This is a weekly newsletter for people who live here—designed to help you know what's happening, find things worth doing, and stay connected to the community around you.
Each week, you'll get:
A quick snapshot of what's coming up (weather, deadlines, key dates)
A few highlights worth knowing about (city decisions, local openings, registration deadlines)
Weekend picks for you and your family
The occasional spotlight on a local business or hidden gem
That's it. No fluff, no algorithms, no endless scrolling. Just a short, useful read you can finish with your morning coffee.
I'm Colten, and I live here too. I started this because I kept missing things—events, openings, city meetings—and I figured if I was missing them, other people probably were too.
Let's see if we can make it a little easier to enjoy living here.

This Week’s Highlights
City Council Meeting Tuesday, February 3 • Work Session 4 PM / Policy Session 7 PM Eagle Mountain City Hall, 1650 E Stagecoach Run
The big item this week: a 45-minute discussion on the Future Land Use Map, which guides where and how Eagle Mountain grows. The council will also vote on the Hidden Hollow amenity plan—Cadence Homes wants to swap a planned swimming pool for a gym and lawn games. If you have opinions on either, public comments are open at 7 PM. View the full agenda here.
Spring Youth Sports Registration Open now • Closes March 31 for some leagues
Registration is live for spring soccer (Pre-K–9th grade), track & field (ages 7–14), youth baseball (3rd–12th grade), and pickleball leagues. Rosters fill up—if your kid wants to play, don't wait. Register here.
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Opening Soon Expected sometime in February Ranches Crossing (Ranches Pkwy & Pony Express Pkwy)
Eagle Mountain's first tenant at Ranches Crossing is almost here. Freddy's serves burgers, hot dogs, and frozen custard. No exact opening date yet, but it's coming this month. See Eagle Mountain City Hall’s Facebook post for more details.
Pole Canyon Boulevard Work Wrapping Up Expected completion mid-February
If you've been dealing with detours and delays around Pole Canyon Blvd, relief is coming. The utility and paving project between Tyson Parkway and Eagle Mountain Blvd should be finished by mid-February, restoring normal traffic flow. See Eagle Mountain City’s Rumor Stop page for more information.
Weekend Picks
Youth Council Dance (Ages 14–18) Friday, February 6 • 7:00–9:30 PM The Barn at Overland, 1713 Erickson Knoll Ln
A supervised, semi-formal dance for high schoolers. Good option if your teen is looking for something to do Friday night. More info here.
Get Outside This Weekend Saturday and Sunday look sunny with highs in the mid-50s—unusually nice for early February. The Golden Eagle Pass trail and other city trails are worth checking out if you've been cooped up. Explore Eagle Mountain trails here.
Local Discovery: Eagle Mountain City Library
If you haven't been to the library lately, it's worth a visit. Beyond books, they run weekly programs for kids (Play n' Learn, Storytime), teens (book clubs, crafts), and adults (book club, Thread & Yarn meetups). It's one of the more underused resources in town—and it's free.
This week: Play n' Learn on Monday, Storytime on Tuesday and Thursday, and a Valentine's 3D Book Art class on Wednesday. See the full calendar here.
Located at 1650 E Stagecoach Run, inside City Hall.
