Happy last day of April! Colten here.
Dear Lord, is it really the last day of April? You’d think that by now I wouldn’t be surprised how fast time slips by, but I guess not.
Well, before time gets the best of us, let’s see what’s going on as we move into May 2026.

CIVIC HIGHLIGHTS

What came out of Tuesday's Planning Commission
Tuesday's meeting covered the four items I previewed Monday. Here's where each landed:
Spring Run Plaza Master Development Agreement
Forwarded to City Council with a positive recommendation. The commission asked the city to widen the right-turn lane from the new road northbound onto Spring Run Parkway, between the intersection and the service drive, to make traffic flow more smoothly.
Spring Run Plaza Preliminary Plat
Forwarded to City Council with a positive recommendation.
Wildland Urban Interface setback
Forwarded to City Council with a positive recommendation, with two language tweaks: the rule applies to the setback adjacent to the WUI boundary (rather than only the rear setback), and it covers both primary and accessory structures.
Concept Plans amendment
Tabled to May 12.
The three forwarded items still need City Council approval to take effect.
City Council meets Tuesday, May 5
Next Tuesday's council meeting starts with a work session at 4 PM and a policy session at 7 PM. The agenda hasn't been posted yet. I'll cover what's on it in Monday's issue.
