City Council — Tuesday, June 2, 7 PM

Two items on Tuesday's agenda worth knowing about.

Horizon Development — public hearing

A developer is asking the city to approve plans for 110 homes on about 109 acres along Pony Express Parkway. City staff and the Planning Commission have both recommended the council deny the request, pointing to concerns about steep slopes, water infrastructure, and traffic at the site's only access point.

Tuesday's meeting is a public hearing. EM residents can attend and comment before the council votes. Meeting details here.

Fiber internet — franchise agreement

The council is also considering a 10-year agreement that would allow a fiber internet provider to build a network along city roads. If approved, it could mean more high-speed internet options for Eagle Mountain residents. Meeting details here.

Property tax — June 16 reminder

The city is proposing a property tax increase to fund public safety. The first public hearing is two weeks away on June 16 at 7 PM, City Council Chambers. This is your chance to weigh in before anything is finalized. Full details here.

Eagle Monument — back where she belongs

EMMIE the Eagle is back at the Eagle Mountain Blvd and SR-73 intersection after more than a year away. She was removed in spring 2025 due to rock deterioration. Full restoration is expected by mid-June. Read more here.
