Hey Eagle Mountain!
Short and useful, as always. This week: a major city hall story that will affect every household's water and sewer bill, your weekend event lineup, and a new local restaurant with a reason to visit this weekend (Freddy’s!).
Let's get into it.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY UPDATE
The City Wants to Borrow $220 Million for Water & Sewer Upgrades — Here's What That Means
Public Hearing: Thursday, March 5 | 5:30 PM | City Hall, 1650 E. Stagecoach Run
Eagle Mountain is growing fast, and the pipes and systems that carry our water and handle our sewer need to keep up. The city is planning to borrow up to $220 million to pay for those upgrades.
This isn't a property tax increase. The loan gets repaid through water and sewer utility rates over time — think of it like a mortgage, but for city infrastructure. If the loan runs its full term of up to 35 years, the total estimated cost including interest is $434.8 million.
Before the city can move forward, state law requires a public hearing so residents can ask questions and weigh in. That's March 5 at 5:30 PM at City Hall. All residents are welcome.
A Power Facility May Be Coming Next to the Meta Data Center
A company called Williams wants to build a natural gas power facility on the land next to Eagle Mountain's Meta data center to help power its expansion. The Planning Commission heard the proposal on February 24.
The notable part for nearby residents: Williams is asking for exceptions to standard city rules, including higher noise levels (75 dB vs. the city's normal 65 dB nighttime limit), above-ground power lines, and 10-foot perimeter fencing. We'll share an update once we know how the Commission responded.
The City Is Updating Its Long-Term Growth Map
Eagle Mountain is in the early stages of updating the map that guides how land across the city gets used — what becomes housing, what becomes commercial, what stays open space. No decisions have been made yet. If you want to see where things stand and share your input, the city has an online tool for that.
