THIS WEEK IN EAGLE MOUNTAIN
Lowe's & Smith's Marketplace Express Interest in Eagle Mountain
The Planning Commission gave a favorable recommendation Tuesday for Eagle's Landing, a proposed commercial development that would bring Lowe's Home Improvement and Smith's Marketplace to Eagle Mountain. The project would be located north of Mid Valley Road and east of Pony Express Parkway. One Call Auto also received a favorable recommendation as part of the development discussions.
While no final decisions have been made, this development could mean significantly closer access to groceries, home improvement supplies, and auto care for Eagle Mountain residents and businesses. Learn more HERE.

City Council Meeting Tuesday: Major Infrastructure & Budget Decisions
The City Council meets Tuesday with several big-ticket items on the agenda that will shape Eagle Mountain's growth and services.
When: Work Session at 4:00 PM | Policy Session at 7:00 PM
Where: City Council Chambers, 1650 E Stagecoach Run
$220 Million Water & Sewer Bond
The Council will begin the process to issue up to $220 million in revenue bonds for critical infrastructure projects, including a new sewer treatment plant expansion, major sewer trunk line, and the Central Utah Water pipeline and booster pump project. These projects are designed to support the city's rapid growth. The resolution sets maximum parameters for interest rates and repayment terms, but the city expects actual costs to be lower. A public hearing is scheduled for March 5 at 5:30 PM for residents who want to weigh in.
$8 Million Budget Amendment
The Council will vote on adding roughly $8 million to the current fiscal year budget. The funds would cover a new Building Inspector position, overtime for the Building Division to handle the permit backlog, road repairs on Pony Express Parkway near Silverlake, and park upgrades including restoring the Eagle Monument and adding digital signage at Cory Wride Park. Residents should see improved permit processing times and visible improvements to city parks.
Night Construction at Scarlet Ridge
The Council will vote on authorizing extended hours for concrete pours for the new 4-million-gallon water tank near Scarlet Ridge subdivision and John Hancock Charter School. If approved, overnight work would occur intermittently over the next six months. Night pours are necessary to keep the concrete cool enough to set properly, ensuring the tank lasts—and it keeps concrete trucks off the road during school drop-off hours.
Does this affect you and you want your concerns heard? Either show up to the Policy Session at 7:00 PM, or hit reply to this message and let me know. I’ll be happy to voice your concerns during Tuesday’s meeting.
Wildfire Safety Map Update
The city is adopting a new Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Map that identifies areas with "Very High and Extreme" wildfire exposure. If you live in one of these zones, new building codes or landscaping requirements may apply to protect your property from fire risks.
Note: All agenda items can be reviewed HERE.
Spring Run Blvd Park Still On Track for Summer 2026
The city has confirmed that the new park off Spring Run Blvd remains on schedule for completion by summer 2026. This addresses recent resident questions about the undeveloped site and gives families something to look forward to. Learn more HERE.
City Protecting Property Values Through Developer Accountability
To protect property values, the city is taking legal steps to ensure developers deliver on promised improvements in a development. The city is responding to resident concerns about delayed work and holding developers (DR Horton) accountable. Learn more HERE.
