This Week’s Highlights
Major Commercial Development: Smith's Marketplace Coming to Eagle Mountain
Tomorrow's Planning Commission meeting (includes a major development agreement for a shopping center near Pony Express Parkway and Mid Valley Road. The project would bring a Smith's Marketplace, another big box retailer, four smaller anchor stores, and multiple pad sites to Eagle Mountain. The agreement includes tax incentives to support infrastructure costs and would allow development consistent with the already-vested commercial zone. This is one of the largest retail developments proposed for Eagle Mountain in years.
Planning Commission Meeting — Tuesday, Feb 10
In addition to the Smith's development, tomorrow night's meeting covers five other public hearings: the Consolidated Fee Schedule (adding a fee for minor site plan amendments), the Wildland-Urban Interface Map (affects fire-safety requirements for properties near open land), QTS rezone for Regional Technology and Industry, fencing code amendments (adding pre-weathered steel as approved material), and the One Call Auto site plan.
